Can't believe that school is in full swing. For those who work all the events and we held a LSC R&R weekend. We all brought horses and camped out at the arena the weekend of August 28th - 30th. We watched movies, ate, played games, ate, rodeo horses, and ate some more. Those who didn't make it sure missed out on a bunch of fun. We are hopping to have another one before winter gets here. Don't forget that the proposals are due before the start of the November meeting. I don't know about the rest of you but I could use some time in the saddle, without contending with the mud. For those who weren't at the April meeting missed out on another great meal. Our Added Money Jackpot July 25th will be BBR approved. Please check the Calendar of Events for all new listings. We have 3 work days scheduled before our Open Jackpot on the 17th. They are April 7 @ 6 p.m., April 11 @ 2 p.m. and April 15 @ 6 p.m. We could sure use all the help we can get this year. Our first Fun Event is coming up on the 25th of April with a Potluck and Playday. The Club voted to allow vendors (other than concessions) to set up at our Rodeo on July 11 & 12. So for those wanting to get a space needs to contact an Officer for more information. We are also going to have The Lyndon Saddle Club 1st Annual Flea Market Oct. 3 & 4. Contact an officer for more information. The Melvern Sunflower Days 4-H / FFA Horse Show will be held on June 20th at the LSC arena. Where has this summer gone? We hope that everyone is staying cool. Update on our President David Wright. Dave will have a total hip replacement with reconstruction on August 8th at Stormont Vail Hospital. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Also keep Sylvia and Jim Cowden in your prayers. Jim has been having some more problems with his lung. As you know Jim had 2/3 of his one lung removed last year with lung cancer. The March meeting was a cold one outside and the snow was blowing. But! We were warm and cozy inside enjoying a delicious covered dish supper. The business meeting was held following the supper. We want to welcome all the new Officers and Directors that were elected at the meeting. Check off the Officer page to see who they are. I don't know about you but I'm ready for some warmer and drier weather. I haven't been on my horse since December and it's time to get with it. Great for getting some extra riding in before the winter snows come. For those who didn't get to the Trail Ride and Campout missed out on some delicious food, wild stories, some fun riding, and making new friends. We had 14 members and guest who rode out and several who kept the camp fires burning while we rode. What a GREAT weekend. Get your halloween costumes ready for the October Fun Show which will be held on October 27. There will be performances classes, fun classes, racing events, and who know what all. So bring your friends and neighbors and come on out for a Goblin good day. Remember! To get you proposals written down and turn into David Wright before the November meeting. This can be anything that you would like to see for next year. It came and went without a chance to get a message on the news page. Hope that everyone survived the rains and high water. This month we have several work nights scheduled at the arena. They are: June 11th, 19th, and 25th (if needed). On the 19th they are going to do dirt work in the arena and the gate areas. Don't forget that it takes all members working to make a successful organization. We will be needing members to work at the Jackpots and the KSHSC July 4th Horse Show.
